Govt. Reviews PITB's Citizen Contact Center

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Livestock, Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad Jutt presided over a meeting which reviewed the functioning of modern computerized (helpline) citizen call center in Livestock and Dairy Development Department. Director Communication & Extension Dr. Israr Hussain Chaudhry and officials of Punjab Information Technology Board were present on the occasion. The meeting was informed that 9199 calls were received through citizen call center since February 27, 2014 which include 5423 of animal health, 378 of breeding and 3398 for guidance while 1079 complaints were received from other districts which were addressed during 24 to 48 hours. Muhammad Arshad Jutt said that software of the system should be modernized for getting feedback of farmers. He directed officials of PITB to upgrade the system so that it could be further improved in accordance with the suggestions of farmers after getting their feedback within two weeks. He also reviewed the functioning of 113 android phones provided for the monitoring of livestock services in the field and said that system of inspection through android phones is being introduced for the provision of healthy meat to the people. Helpline No. 0800-78685-86 were changed to citizen call center through modern computerized system and phone lines were increased to 60 instead of two for complaints. Under this automatic system of call center, the complaints of the livestock farmers will be redressed within 24 to 48 hours, he added. Arshad Jutt said that under this system, all calls will be recorded and in the light of complaints of the farmers, planning of the projects in livestock will be improved.
