Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Kh. Salman Rafique presided over a meeting at Civil Secretariat today for setting up Kidney and Liver Institute in Lahore. Secretary to Chief Minister Imdad Ullah Bosal, Secretary Regulations Shahnaz Nawaz, Director Legal Law Department Mr. Mohsin, Deputy Secretary to CM Ali Karim and officers of Finance, P&D and other departments attended the meeting. The meeting discussed legal aspects of registration of Trust and others matters for establishing Kidney and Liver Institute and proposed immediate steps for progress on the project.
Kh. Salman Rafique said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed that the work should be started on the project at the earliest for which 50 acres land has already been allocated on Badian Road. According to an estimate, the project will cost Rs.12 billion which will be provided by Punjab government whereas Kidney and Liver Institute of Lahore will work under the supervision of renowned surgeon Prof. Dr. Saeed Akhtar working in America and Al-Shifa International Hospital Islamabad for liver transplantation.
