Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that government is providing facilities to the people for payment of property tax, token tax and other government receipts. He said that property tax has been computerized in six districts which include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Sialkot. He said that provincial government did not impose tax on such services as affect the common man. He said that government is taken steps to expand the tax net.
In a statement, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that there have been complaints about challan form of excessive property tax. He said that necessary action is being taken for payment of property tax in computerized cities and computerized challan will be provided. He said that government has issued clear instructions for taking action against those officials misusing the powers. He said that the citizens having complaints about property tax should contact concerned Excise & Taxation officers and Director Excise & Taxation and their complaints immediately be removed. He said that aim of government steps is to facilitate the citizens and action will be taken against those creating hurdles in this regard.
