Khadim Punjab Imdadi Package Phase II Progresses Successfully

Provincial Minister for Home & Chairman Cabinet Committee on Flood Relief Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada has said that the second phase of distribution of financial assistance among flood affectees is continuing successfully which will be completed by November 25. He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, verification of complaints of the people about nonpayment of financial assistance is being conducted by third party. He said that 9460 complaints have received so far, of which, verification process of 7444 has completed and 7441 complaints have proved bogus and only three correct. He said that 16 billion rupees are being distributed among affectees under Khadim Punjab Imdadi Package.
                   
He said this while addressing a press conference at Chief Minister Office here today. Spokesman Punjab Government Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf and DG PDMA Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi were also present on the occasion.
                   
Shuja Khanzada told that pay orders for Rs. 8.37 billion have been issued to two lakh 39 thousand affectees so far, out of which, more than two lakh affectees have got pay orders for Rs. 6.39 billion encashed. He told that pay orders can be encashed up to six months. The Minister told that an amount of Rs. 10.46 billion has been distributed among affectees during first and second phase so far. He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is personally monitoring all process. Shuja Khanzada said that we are thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for providing 50 percent of financial assistance by federal government. He said that scrutiny committees have been directed to complete the process of verification of complaints within 24 hours so that no deserving person could remain deprived of financial assistance.
                   
Spokesman Punjab Government Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri said that retired judges, former bureaucrats and notables of the areas have been included in the committees set up for redressal of complaints of the people and no member of PML(N) is included in these committees. He said that scrutiny of complaint is being made in the presence of complainant so that there should be no doubt.
