Provincial Minister Food & Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said that government has taken coordinated steps for providing quality essential items at cheaper rates to the people during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, under which district administration is ensuring provision of eatable items at fixed prices continuously. He said that provincial ministers and other senior officials are visiting various districts to review the situation.
He said this during his surprise visits to Ramazan bazaars and fair price shops at Hafizabad and Sheikhupura districts. Secretary Industries & Livestock Naseem Sadiq, Special Secretary Agriculture Gulzar Hussain, Secretary Coordination to Prime Minister Qazi Ahmed Saeed, MPA Waheed Gul and DCO Hafizabad Muhammad Usman were also present on this occasion.
Bilal Yasin visited various Ramazan bazaars in Hafizabad and checked quality of items. He also inquired from the consumers about the prices. The Provincial Minister said that government is implementing a comprehensive programme of public welfare under which relief is being given to the people in various sectors. He said that the subsidy given under Ramazan package by Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is being spent for providing relief to the people. He warned that no negligence will be tolerated. Bilal Yasin directed district administration to ensure display of prices of each item conspicuously at stalls in Ramazan bazaars. He said that a separate queue of women should be arranged at sugar stalls and sugar not more than 2 kg should be given to any person.
Bilal Yasin visited Ramazan bazaars in Hafizabad and Sheikhupura and checked the stalls of vegetables, fruits, flour, sugar, agriculture fairs price shops, poultry, utility stores, drinks and meat and expressed satisfaction. He said that provision of maximum relief is top priority of the government.
