Provincial Minister for Labour & Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has constituted a special committee headed by Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh for sending one lakh skilled labourers from Punjab to Qatar, Dubai and other gulf countries which will ensure provision of skilled manpower according to the demands of international market through short, medium and long term projects.
He said this while presiding over a meeting to review the steps regarding export of skilled manpower to Qatar and gulf countries at TEVTA Secretariat. Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, MPAs Saira Iftikhar, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, COPVTC and officers of Punjab Skills Development Fund and other concerned institutions attended the meeting. GM TEVTA, COPSDF Ali Akbar Bosan, Fakhar Ahmed, Sajjad Mughal, Col. (R) Ghazanfar, Col. Aamir and others are included in the committee. The meeting discussed the measures to further activate taskforce set up by Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for labour export. Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh told that TEVTA will be able to send 25 thousand skilled labour force during next six months. The meeting discussed governance and technical matters to select short courses and syllabus for providing skills to youth according to the demand of Qatar, Dubai and other gulf countries.
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar stressed the need of ensuring training to the skilled force with the collaboration of private sector and elimination of hindrances in the preparation of skilled labour force.
