Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that China is a sincere friend of Pakistan which realizes the problems and difficulties of Pakistani people and its leadership is ready to extend all out cooperation for the solution of these problems.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of an agreement between China and Punjab regarding training of doctors and paramedical staff in Beijing today (Tuesday), CM Punjab said that ongoing development projects in Pakistan under democratic government have full support and cooperation of the Chinese leadership. Under the agreement signed in this ceremony, doctors and paramedics of Punjab will be imparted training in the best hospitals of China. Shahbaz Sharif said that government and people of China wanted to see Pakistan moving towards the goal of progress and prosperity without any hurdle. He said that China has given the biggest development package to Pakistan of its history and Pakistani leadership, through its implementation, will come up to the expectations of China despite local and international problems. He said that the process of development has always been difficult but Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will achieve its goal through honesty and hard work.
Earlier, giving details of the agreement, Chairperson of Chinese Foundation for Cultural Heritage Ms Geng Ying told that under the three years agreement, China will pay all expenses on the travel, accommodation, food and other facilities to the Pakistani doctors coming for training. She said that besides training in emergency and administrative matters, the doctors and concerned staff will also be trained in acupuncture. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif thanked Chinese government over the agreement for the training of doctors and paramedical staff in the best hospitals of China and said that this offer will greatly help in improving healthcare system in Punjab. He said that the agreement reflected Pak-China friendship. He also assured that Punjab government was paying full attention to the provision of modern treatment facilities to the common man in hospitals and billions of rupees were being spent for this purpose. He said that the agreement signed between China and Punjab is an important step towards further improving healthcare facilities in Punjab. Earlier, the agreement for the training of doctors and paramedical staff between China and Punjab was signed in Beijing. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Shahbaz Sharif, who reached Beijing today on a visit to China, was given a warm welcome by the Chinese authorities at the airport. During the visit, talks will be held with the Chinese authorities for further promoting cooperation in energy, infrastructure and transport sectors. The Chief Minister will also attend a meeting of Pak-China Joint Commission. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Maalik are leading the delegation.
