Bilal Yasin announces relief package for Ramazan

 Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that a comprehensive Ramazan package has been evolved for providing relief to the people during holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. He said that under the package, 337 Ramazan and model bazaars will be set up in 36 districts of the province where daily use items will be available to the citizens at cheaper rates.
                    
He said this while presiding over a meeting at Civil Secretariat, here today. Secretaries of Industry, Agriculture, Livestock, Health departments, Commissioner Lahore and other senior officers were present on the occasion. The meeting was informed that the mechanism evolved for providing relief to the common man in Ramazan bazaars will be strictly implemented so that no one can exploit the masses. Secretary Industry told that 337 Ramazan bazaars are being set up in the province which will be directly supervised by DCOs. It was further told that special teams have been constituted to ensure supply of essential items so that there should be no shortage of any item in Ramazan bazaars. It was informed that government has decided to give subsidy on 11 essential commodities in Ramazan bazaars and meetings will be held with flour mills and other associations for reducing the prices of sugar, flour, ghee below the control rate so as to facilitate the citizens. The meeting was further told that police and district administration will be mobilized for providing security in Ramazan bazaars while special teams will be constituted to take immediate action against the elements involved in hoarding and profiteering.
