Anti-dengue survey forms have been distributed among girl and boy students of all private and public schools of Samanabad Town and they have been directed to fill these forms after checking the potential sites for dengue larvae breeding in their respective homes.This was stated by Additional Secretary General (Education) Rana Hassan Akhtar while presiding over a meeting regarding elimination of dengue in Samanabad Town, here today. Town Municipal Officer Malik Imtiaz Awan, officers of all concerned departments and towns were also present on the occasion. He said that teams comprising 116 daily wagers men and 59 women have been constituted for checking dengue larvae and creating awareness about polio at union council level. He said that lists of the names of daily wagers have been given to coordinators who will check their performance on daily basis.
Rana Hassan Akhtar expressed indignation over the absence of representatives of Lahore Development Authority, Higher Education and Punjab Information Technology Board in anti-dengue meetings and directed their high ups to issue letters to them regarding their absence. He directed the authorities of WASA and Lahore Waste Management Company present in the meeting to ensure cleanliness of nullahs, Sunday bazaar sites and plots and place lids on all manholes situated in the limits of the town.Town Municipal Officer Malik Imtiaz Awan presented a report in the meeting and informed that anti-dengue teams checked 14560 indoor places during one week and larvae was found at 46 sites while larvae was detected at eight places out of 12490 outdoor spots which was destroyed. He further said that dengue larvae is being detected in union council number 84, 94 and 115 and instructions have been issued to anti-dengue teams to pay more focus to these places.
