Salman Rafiq advises to implement guidelines by TAC for controlling dengue

Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq has said that all government departments are fully alert for eradication of dengue and this disease will not be allowed to become virus during coming dengue season. He directed that all departments and town committees should follow the guidelines issued by technical advisory committee in connection with controlling dengue.
                   
He said this while presiding over a meeting of technical advisory committee regarding dengue at Institute of Public Health, today. Additional Director General Dengue Control Dr. Islam Zafar, Dean IPH Prof. Ijaz Ahmed, Expert Viral Diseases Prof. Farkhanda Kokab, Chief Bacteriologist Punjab Prof. Zarfishan Tahir, Prof. Shahid Iqbal, Dr. Humayun, Dr. Fareed Ullah and officers of Punjab Information Technology Board attended the meeting.
                   
The meeting discussed technical aspects of the steps taken by various departments about dengue situation and its eradication in the province particularly Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sheikhupura. The meeting directed to further improve tagging of dengue suspected patients being reported from various cities and also tag anti-dengue activities of various departments on PITB dashboard. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that such suspected dengue patients which are not being tagged on dashboard due to any technical reason, their record should be compiled as a missing patients. He directed that town response committees and government institutions should implement the instructions of technical advisory committee in connection with spray and fogging and should not decide to use chemical at their own. He said that guidelines of dengue technical advisory committee are proving helpful in eradication of dengue.
