Implementation of code of conduct imperative to responsible journalism: experts

Responsible journalism is not possible without enforcement of code of conduct. Objectivity in reporting and impartiality in discussions are qualities of a good journalist.
                        
These views were expressed by journalism experts on the second day of a 2-day International Journalism Conference and Awards under the aegis of Youth Revolution Clan. Prominent journalists Najam Wali Khan, Farrukh Sohail Goendi, Raza Naeem, Barrister Mian Ali Ashraf, Daniyal and other experts informed about the importance of accountability and enforcement of code of conduct in media. Rizwan ul Haq Razi, Sohail Raja, Agha Rizwan and Asad Chohan informed the participants of the conference about the basic concepts and other aspects of business journalism. Experts were of the view that the economic survival of media industry depends upon advertisement and economic interests can effects the integrity of media. Foreign advertisements and presence of models in media Ad industry is a matter of concern due to which local industry and the country is being deprived of foreign exchange. War of survival of Ad industry has to be fought through hard work and quality. Secretary Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust Shahid Rasheed informed the participants about the role of youth in Pakistan movement. Journalism experts in the concluding session informed the participants about their expertise, experiences and observations. Daniyal Sohail, Abid Ayub and Nasreen Khan mentioned the importance and effects of social media and said that due to social media every person has become the owner of channel, newspaper and radio. They said that the person using social media convey his message to others immediately.  Question-answer session was also held among the participants.
                        
Later, Prof. Dr. Mugaees ud Din Sheikh, Ather Ali Khan, Shahid Rasheed, Sohail Riaz Raja, Rizwan Anwar, Maha Jameel, Asfand Yar, Awais Razzaq, Fatima Iqbal and others were given awards on their invaluable services whereas certificates were distributed among participants.
