Public & Private Sector Join Hands for Skill Development

Provincial Minister for Labour & Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that Punjab government is holding skill development training courses under public private partnership for capacity building of industrial workers and harmonizing Pakistani work force with the demand of international labour market. He said that modern model training centers are being set up in Sheikhupura and Gujranwala for this purpose.
                        
He said this while presiding over a meeting for reviewing the progress of a coordinated project started with an amount of 5.2 billion rupees on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab for eliminating child and bonded labour at Social Security Head Office. Secretary Labour Ishrat Ali, DG Labour Saleem Hussain, Project Director Dr. Javed Gul and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
                        
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar told the meeting that Punjab government is taking vigorous steps for eliminating child labour including bonded labour at brick kilns, rehabilitation of labourers, economic independence of affected families, effective coordination between concerned departments and skill development training project is a step towards this direction. Project Director Javed Gul told that skill development training will be provided to the labourers at Sheikhupura and Gujranwala model training centers for meeting the demands of international market.
                        
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that besides survey of child labour with the technical cooperation of local and foreign institutions, process of reforms and reporting system and effective monitoring is continuing. He said that the menace of child and bonded labour can be eliminated through joint efforts of employer, employee and the government.
