Computerization of Land Record; A Relief to Public

The Spokesperson of Project Management Unit, Board of Revenue Punjab has said that Arazi Record Centers have been established in all 143 tehsils across Punjab where fard is issued in 30 minutes and mutation is completed in just 50 minutes. Under computerization of land record project the public is being provided land record services in an efficient manner. Moreover, the centuries old record is being cleansed and made transparent by rectification of inherent mistakes through due process of law. In order to secure the rights of land, the biometric data (picture and thumb impression) of land owners is being incorporated in the record. Moreover, the name of owners is being made consistent with their name in CNIC.
        
He told that, out of 36 districts in Punjab computerization of land records has been completed in 20 districts, however this is a complex and time taking process which is being completed with the support of revenue staff. Thereby, completion of project is being ensured after verification of record in rest of 16 districts.
        
Spokesman further said that, in order to ensure smooth operations of these centers administrative control/powers have been conferred among the authorities from PMU and the District Administration. Moreover for efficient service delivery and grievance redresssal, complaint cells have been established in the office of District Coordination Officer at district and in PMU at provincial level. All such measures have restored the confidence of public about computerized system and they have expressed their gratitude toward Government of Punjab for its initiative meant for relief to public.
