Govt. Reveals New Scheme for Installation of Filtration Plants

Chairman Steering Committee and Provincial Minister for Housing, Communication & Works, Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan presided over a meeting of senior officers of Punjab Saaf Pani Company and Public Health Engineering Department. The Minister directed that the details and reasons of closure of such schemes should be presented in next meeting as were launched for the provision of potable water. He directed to re-send the samples of water of existing schemes for analysis. Chairperson Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha told the Minister that presently survey of 134 schemes in Lodhran, 182 in Bahawalapur, 400 in Bahawalnagar and 230 in Rahim Yar Khan is continuing which will be completed by March 31, 2015. Later, these schemes will start providing potable water upto September 2015. The Minister was informed that besides these districts survey has been started for installation of water filtration plants in Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Nankana, Kasur, Rajanpur and Okara districts. Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan directed that new schemes should be started against old schemes which have become outdated. He directed the officers not to waste time on paperwork rather these schemes should be activated at the earliest and provision of water should be ensured to the citizens.  Secretary Housing Asad Gillani, Chairperson Saaf Pani Project Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Engineer Qamar ul Islam, Director Farasat Iqbal and other officers were present on the occasion.
