MoU signed between Punjab government and Turk Cooperation and Coordination agency

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Punjab Government and Turk Cooperation and Coordination Agency. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Provincial Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, Turk Ambassador in Pakistan S. Babur G. Girgin, Secretary Housing and Director General Lahore Development Authority were present on the occasion..  Turk Ambassador S. Babur G. Girgin and Chairman Planning & Development signed the minutes of the memorandum while the head of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Dr. Sirdar Cam and Chairperson Punjab Skill Development Fund Ali Sarfraz signed the MoU.

Under the agreement, bilateral cooperation will be increased in the field of vocational training, protection of archeological sites, capacity-building of Red Crescent and housing sector. Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency will extend technical assistance in vocational training in garments, construction and automobile sectors. The Turk agency will also provide help in preparation of syllabus, training of trainers, courses as well as provide training equipments.  Besides exchange of delegations of experts in archeology, the Turk agency will also extend assistance in the protection of archeological buildings and training of the staff of Archeology Department. Moreover, mutual cooperation will be increased between Red Crescent Societies of Pakistan and Turkey and the pilot project will be started from Punjab. Turk Cooperation and Coordination Agency will also provide technical assistance for launching housing projects for low income people.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif speaking on the occasion, welcomed the agreement of cooperation between Punjab government and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency. He said that Punjab government and Turk companies are already cooperating in various sectors and Turk companies has invested billions of dollars in various sectors in Punjab. He said that the growing cooperation between Punjab government and Turk companies will bring the two countries closers. He said that new avenues of cooperation are opening up due to collaboration with Punjab government and Turkey. He said that Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency has expertise in housing sector and Punjab government will fully benefit from it. He said that investment of billions of dollars by Turk companies in Punjab is strengthening friendship between Pakistan and Turkey.

Turk Ambassador S. Babur G. Girgin said that the collaboration between Turk Cooperation and Coordination Agency with Punjab government will strengthen friendly ties between Pakistan and Turkey. He said that experts of Turk institution will cooperate in Punjab in the housing project for low income people.
