Relief Commissioner Punjab & Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf has said that on the directive of Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, supply of relief goods to earthquake affectees of Balochistan is continuing without any break. According to a report, 23000 Sq meter area of Balochistan, 37000 families, 180,000 people and 23100 houses were affected due to earthquake.
This was disclosed by him while presiding over a meeting with regard to reviewing the relief activities for earthquake affectees of Balochistan today. DG PDMA Muhammad Asif, Director Operations Zaheer Abbas and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf said that 907.08 tone relief items worth Rs.132.41 million have been sent for the earthquake affectees of Balochistan which include 46086 food hampers, 2300 atta bags of 10kg, 10150 tents, three trucks of medicines, 360 blankets and 500 mosquito nets while 3886 food hampers through 23 sorties of the helicopter of Chief Minister Punjab have been sent to the affectess of Balochistan. He informed that various committees have been constituted for purchase, quality, transportation and packing of relief items which, after reviewing, give approval to the purchase and supply of relief items. He said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, PDMA Punjab will continue relief activities till the rehabilitation of affectees whereas PDMA is providing three thousand food hampers through trucks on daily basis.
