Provincial Minister for Education and Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan visited Ramazan bazaar at Moon Market, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore, today. He visited many stalls of the items of daily use and inquired about the standard, supply status and rates of essential items from the consumers purchasing edibles for Iftar. Most of the consumers expressed their satisfaction over the demand and supply situation barring some items like tomatoes and cauliflower. The Minister who also the convener of Cabinet Committee on Ramazan package in Punjab, directed the relevant authorities to provide the consumers abundant supply of fruit and vegetables through Green Channel so that people could judiciously get benefit from the subsidy given by the government through the Ramazan package. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan distributed ration packets to hundreds of deserving and needy people on this occasion. The ration was arranged by the local philanthropists and the well off PML-N workers.
Talking to the media present in the Ramazan bazaar, the Minister gave answers to many queries of the pressmen and defended the enhancement upto the tune of one percent in GST by saying that this tax has been taken to revitalize the economy of Pakistan. The federal as well as provincial governments of PML-N have exhibited austerity at the top level. Punjab Chie Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has a reputation of a leader having simple lifestyle as the Pakistani nation needs to adopt simplicity, he added.
