Advancement of education, a top priority of the goverment

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Education, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri has said that Punjab government has paid special attention to higher education with primary and secondary education during last about five years. He said that the talented girl and boy students of poor families are being provided education in and outside the country through the scholarships of Punjab Educational Endowment Fund. He said that Punjab government has taken a number of revolutionary steps including establishment of four new universities, recruitment of 72 thousand teachers on merit and distribution of laptops in the province. He said that students are being provided scholarships for study and research in foreign countries.

He expressed these views on the occasion of a 3- day international conference “Language Science and Development World” held at Lahore College for Women University. Scholars from different countries participated in the conference. On this occasion, Zaeem Qadri said that promotion of national and regional languages is necessary with English language so that people of the backward areas could play their role in global world. He said that translation of international books in regional languages should also be published for the promotion of education and research. He said that the importance of national and regional languages cannot be denied in order to join the race of developed countries. Secretary Higher Education, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University, Director National Talent Pool, International Scholars and teachers also attended the conference. Zaeem Hussain Qadri thanked international scholars for visiting Pakistan and said that exchange of such delegations result in encouragement of the students.
