More than one lakh laptops to be distributed in next phase

Special Assistant to CM Punjab, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri has said that Punjab government will distribute more than one lakh laptops in the next phase among the students for harmonizing them with the modern educational demands and information technology. He said that this process would be completed soon by maintaining transparency and merit.

He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat today. The meeting was attended by Secretary Higher Education, DGPR, DG Protocol, Chairman Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Lahore and other concerned officers.

Addressing the meeting, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri said that laptops will also be distributed as per schedule this year. He said that laptops would also be distributed among 4000 students belonging to other provinces, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Islamabad besides students of Deeni Madaris. While directing the officers, Syed Zaeem Qadri said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, simplicity should be observed during these ceremonies. He further said that distribution of laptops among the students of Deeni Madaris is proof of the fact that Punjab government wants to bring them into national mainstream so that they could play their due role in the society. It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab government had distributed more than one lakh twenty five thousand laptops to the students last year and more than one lakh laptops would also be distributed this year.
