Senior Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee for Moharram-ul-Haram Arrangements, Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed the Commissioner Lahore to publicize alternate traffic plan during the processions of Aashura Moharram so that mourners and people do not have to face any problem.
He stated this while presiding over a high-level meeting held regarding reviewing the arrangements during Moharram at Civil Secretariat, here today. Provincial Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Special Assistants to Chief Minister Punjab, Members National and Provincial Assembly, Secretary Home, senior officials of agencies, police, special branch and other departments attended the meeting. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed the Minister Incharge, all Members National and Provincial Assembly to present in their constituencies and monitor the arrangements for Majalis and processions in their respective areas. He also directed DCOs and police officers of the province to take strict action against those taking out processions and holding Majalis without license and submit him a report in this regard.
Senior Advisor told the meeting that the Army has provided six sniffer dogs, while assurance has been given for provision of more. IG Punjab informed that 847 processions would be taken out in the province, while 4010 Majalis would be held.  He informed that all processions and Majalis are being monitored strictly. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa was also informed that contravention of Loudspeaker’s Act and timings in Lahore and other districts are being made, upon which he directed all DCOs to ensure adherence to the code of ethics, along with warning them through district peace committees.
