The students and the teachers of the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) partner schools have completed the tree plantation campaign in their schools to promote environment friendly atmosphere in their institutions. During the campaign, the students, as well as their teachers, planted different saplings of trees and the students were also given special lectures about the importance of green environment.
The purpose of this campaign was to motivate the students’ community to act against environmental pollution at the grassroots. The Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Muhammad Anwar stated this in a meeting at his office on Thursday. The meeting was attended, besides others, by the Director-CPDP Bushra Saeed Khan and Program Heads.
Raja Anwar, while expressing his satisfaction over the fact that the PEF pioneered in devising institutional mechanism against the menace of corporal punishment in its partner schools, hoped that the green education project will sensitize the students’ community about the importance of foliage in combating pollution especially in the big cities. He further hoped that involvement of students in such healthy activities will improve and broaden their intellectual ken, as well.
On the occasion, PEF Director CPDP gave a detail of tree plantation campaign launched in the partner schools and told that Subject Specialists provided to the partners under Schools Based Support Program (SBSP), besides helping in improving the quality of education, are also quite supportive in ensuring ingenious environment for the overall nourishment of the students’ personality.
