Punjab Tourism Department is rendering marvelous services for the promotion of tourism in Pakistan. Tourism Department Punjab has arranged a number of programmes on World Tourism Day and people belonging to all schools of thought have been included in it.
This was disclosed by Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan while addressing a function held in connection with World Tourism Day at Alhamra, today. A photo exhibition has also been arranged with the cooperation of photo journalists at Alhamra Arts Council which, besides professional photographers, also showcased the photographs of the school children. Managing Director Tourism Habib ur Rehman Gillani inaugurated the photographic exhibition and about 150 photographs have been placed in the exhibition. Mohsin Raza, Tahir Mahmood and Shafiq Malik won the first, second and third positions respectively in the photographic exhibition. A painting competition was also held among children of various schools. Rana Mashhood witnessed photographs and paintings in Art Gallery and lauded the efforts of photographers. A tourism awareness walk was arranged which started from Stock Exchange Market and culminated at Alhamra Hall No.1. Rana Mashhood also gave away prizes. He said that Punjab Tourism Department has formally inaugurated a Back Packer Club today for involving the youth in positive activities. He said that number of tourist projects has been started for the recreation of people and huge foreign exchange can be earned through promotion of tourism. At the end of the function, a cultural show was also arranged. Cholistani artists, bansrinawaz of Chakwal and Fawad Ahmed performed in the show and audience highly appreciated their performance. Special Assistant for Tourism Imran Goraya, Parliamentary Secretary Rana Arshad, President Back Pakcer Amjad Pervaiz, Secretary Tourism Haroon Khan, MD Tourism Habib ur Rehman Gillani and Senior Journalist Saleem Bukhari also addressed the function.
