Plan For Running Modern Buses On Feeder Routes Of Lahore Metro Bus System Finalized

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that modern buses would soon be run on the feeder routes of metro bus system in Lahore and the plan in this regard has been finalized. He said that modern air-conditioned buses in the first phase will soon ply on 14 routes of the metropolis. He said that this system will result in reliable, quality and economical transport facilities to the masses and lakhs of people will benefit from this project. He said that operation of buses on feeder routes will also improve traffic flow in the city.
 
He was addressing a meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat, here today which reviewed a plan of feeder routes of metro bus system in the city. He directed that proper parking arrangements would also be made for the buses to run on feeder routes. He said that provision of modern transport facilities to the masses is the priority of the government and billions of rupees are being spent on the projects aimed at providing modern and quality transport facilities to the citizens. The Chief Minister also directed CTO to take effective measures for improving the flow of traffic in the provincial metropolis and said that there is a need for promoting traffic sense and awareness about traffic laws among the citizens. He said that there is a need for strict implementation of traffic rules for effective traffic management. Managing Director Punjab Mass Transit Authority gave a briefing regarding feeder routes of metro bus project. Member National Assembly Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad, Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Finance, Secretary Transport, Commissioner Lahore Division, CTO Lahore and Chief Executive Officer Lahore Transport Company attended the meeting through video link from Civil Secretariat.
