Prime Minister’s National Health Insurance Programme Will Be Speedily Implemented In Punjab: Shehbaz Sharif

 Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today which was given a briefing by Minister of State for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar and Director General Health Services Dr. Asad Hafeez on Prime Minister’s National Health Insurance Programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that National Health Insurance Programme of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is a commendable step for the provision of health facilities to extremely poor segments of the society. He said that this programme will be speedily implemented in Punjab. The Chief Minister also issued instructions for setting up a high-level steering committee for dealing with the matters pertaining to implementation of this programme. Minister of State Saira Afzal Tarar will be the head of National Health Services Steering Committee. The Chief Minister was informed that Prime Minister’s National Health Insurance Programme will soon be started in four districts of Punjab and extremely low income families will benefit from this programme. Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq, Parliamentary Secretary Kh. Imran Nazir, Dr. Nadia Aziz MPA, senior officers of provincial departments and officers concerned of federal institutions were present. Provincial Minister for Finance Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Secretary National Health Services, Director General Health Services attended the meeting through video link from Islamabad and DCO Rahim Yar Khan and EDO Health Rahim Yar Khan from Rahim Yar Khan.
