The inauguration ceremony of training program under the project of “Capacity Building of WASAs” for water sector professionals was conducted at AlJazari Academy. Mr. Khawaja Ahmed Hassan Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab was the guest of honor at the ceremony.
The course titled “Leakage Detection & Repair” has been designed and developed by the experts at Aljazari Water & Sanitation Academy and JICA team members in order to offer professional training and in depth knowledge and understanding to more than 20 participants from WASAs of Punjab. WASA Quetta from Baluchistan is also attending the 4 day long course.
CEO Urban Unit Dr. Nasir Javed, Principal AlJazari Academy Dr. Kiran Farhan, Chief Advisor JICA technical team Dr. Nobuyuki Sato, Managing Director Faisalabad WASA Syed Zahid Aziz, Managing Director WASA Multan Rao Muhammad Qasim, representatives of WASA Lahore, faculty of AlJazari Academy, JICA team members and course participants from Water and Sanitation Agencies of Punjab and Baluchistan, Public Health Engineering Department and Town Municipal Administration were also present in the inauguration ceremony.
“The capacity building sessions at Aljazari are the best examples of international collaboration in the domain of Water & Sanitation as Pakistani and Japanese experts have worked together to devise some innovative training modules. We are determined to help the professionals by providing them with some international standard courses and new and hi tech teaching methodologies”, said Dr. Nobuyuki Sato.
