Steering Committee Meets To Review Pace Of Construction Work On PKLI

Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Kh. Salman Rafique chaired a meeting of steering committee on Pakistan Kidney, Liver Transplant & Research Institute to review the pace of construction work on the project on Friday at the site office of PKLI at Badian Road. Besides Chairman PKLI Prof. Dr. Saeed Akhtar, officers from WAPDA, Sui Gas, Finance Department, Health Department, Chinese experts team and members of PKLI Trust attended the meeting. The meeting discussed regarding the construction of infrastructure of the institute. Installation of heavy duty transfer, sui gas connection, laying of pipelines and construction of roads to connect the PKLI with main Badian Road. Prof. Saeed Akhtar said that surrounding walls of the institute also be completed at the earliest. Kh. Salman Rafique said that on the directions of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif state-of-the-art institute is being constructed on a 50 acre land which would approximately cost Rs.16 billion where transplantation of kidney as well as liver facilities would be available more over medical treatment and diagnostics facilities also be provided in PKLI. He said that this would be a comprehensive and a modern institute of medical world. He directed that weekly meeting of the committee should be called to regular monitoring of construction and civil works. Kh. Salman revealed that he would call a meeting of all the concerned departments including City District Government, TEPA, Sui Northern Gas and LESCO headed by Commissioner Lahore Division so that all the departments should work with better coordination on fast track for timely completion of the project.
