A delegation of Lahore Restaurant Association led by its President Kamran Sheikh called on Director General Punjab Food Authority Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, here today. The meeting agreed upon preparing SoPs for ensuring implementation of Punjab Food Authority laws. Speaking on the occasion, DG Punjab Food Authority told that Punjab Food Authority is working jointly with all stake holders for ensuring implementation of Healthy Punjab Programme. He said our aim is not damaging are closing the business but ensuring provision of healthy and quality food to the people. It is a great success and important step towards healthy Punjab that all restaurant/hotel owners are fully agreed over the laws and the measures taken in their light. He further told that smart cards will be issued to the owners for registration of the hotels in the province through which they will deposit their dues and a strong database of the record of the hotels and employees can be made through smart cards. He said that not only hotels and restaurants will be registered but sellers of packed edible items will also be registered and their quality will be monitored. Punjab Food Authority will strictly deal with those doing the business of adulterated food items and will set up special courts along with concerned institutions for taking action on the cases registered against them. President Lahore Restaurant Association Kamran Sheikh assured cooperation for improving the quality of food and accepting the laws of Punjab Food Authority and said that Healthy Punjab Programme will be made a success along with Punjab Food Authority. He said that they will help in identifying those involved in preparing and selling unhygine and sub-standard food items. He thanked DG Punjab Food Authority on removing reservations of hotel and restaurant owners. Director Operations Punjab Food Authority Rafia Haider, Director Admin and Finance Afraz Ahmed, Secretary Finance Lahore Restaurants Association Nisar Chaudhary and General Secretary Ahmed Shafiq were present on the occasion.
