Security Arrangements Finalized For 973rd Annual Urs Of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh

Punjab government has given a final shape to the arrangements and security of 973rd Annual Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh. The celebrations of the Urs will continue from November 19 to 21, 2016.  Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation presided over a high-level meeting at the office of Commissioner Lahore. Parliamentary Secretary on Information Rana Muhammad Arshad, Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Khan Sumbal, DCO Sheikhupura Arqam Tariq, DCO Nankana Sahira Umer, DCO Kasur Amara Khan, DOC Lahore Sundas Irshad, Administrator Data Darbar, DPOs Sheikhupura, Nankana and Kasur, Lisence holders of Ahle Tashi, Agha Shah Hussain Qazalbash, Basharat Karbalai, Tauqeer Baba, Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Allama Mushtaq Jaafery, representatives of Rescue 1122, Sui Gas, Lahore Waste Management Company and officers of district administration were present on the occasion. The Minister was informed that all arrangements have been completed for observing the celebrations of Urs of Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al-Hajvary in a befitting manner and walkthrough gates and detectors have been provided to security staff for the protection of devotees around the Darbar. Besides 155 CCTV cameras have been installed in and outside Darbar while under Safe City Project, participants of the Urs will be monitored. Control room in Darbar will be operational round the clock. DCO informed that counters of health department have also been set up for facilitating the devotees where medicines will be provided. As many as 32 vehicles of Rescue 1122 will be available round the clock while fire brigade vehicles of civil defense will also be present and food authority will check the items of Lungar.

          Later, the meeting reviewed the arrangements made throughout the division in connection with Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain. License holders of Ahl-e-Tashi thanked the administration for best arrangements during Ashura-e-Muharram. They requested to remove electricity wires hanging in streets and encroachments on the routes of processions and parking. The Minister asssured that divisional administration is high alert like Ashra-e-Muharram and all out arrangements have been made for foolproof security of Chehlum celebrations. He said that protection of life and property of every Pakistani is responsibility of the state.
