Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said with a view to facilitating working women, daycare centers are being set up across the province for the look after of their children.
She was speaking at inauguration of upgraded daycare center at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, here today. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fakhar Iman, Medical Superintendent Dr. Nauman, Assistant Prof. Dr. Rameeza Kaleem and a large number of nurses were present on the occasion. The Minister said that daycare centers are being set up, under a phased programme, in different cities for the look after of the children of working women. She said that Punjab Daycare Fund Society has also been established for the management of these daycare centers and monthly meetings of its board are held regularly. She said that the society monitors performance of daycare centers, training of the staff and available facilities. She said that more than 55 daycare centers have so far been inaugurated while more such centers will be set up during current fiscal year.
Hameeda Waheed ud Din accompanied by the Vice Chancellor, MS and others inaugurated the upgraded daycare center. She also visited playroom, nursery and kitchen of the daycare centers and appreciated the standard of available facilities.
