Anti Corruption authorities, on the directions of Director General Anti Corruption Establishment Punjab Brig.(R) Muzafar Ali Ranjha, conducted raids in Okara, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah and Chiniot districts and arrested District Officers Roads, SCO Land Record Centre, Inspector Mines and two Patwaries red handed while taking bribe and sent them jail on judicial remand after recovery of amount of gratification.
According to details Circle Officer Anti Corruption Okara Abdul Ghaffar Khan conducted a trap raid under the supervision of Magistrate Tariq Mehmood and arrested District Officer Roads Azhar Latif red handed while taking Rs.3 lac from a contractor Haji Muhammad Iqbal and recovered the amount of bribe. Contractor Haji Muhammad Iqbal lodged a complaint against District Officers Roads Okara that he qualified for contract through open tender and DO Roads was demanding 2% of total amount of contract as gratification to release Work Order. The raiding team of ACE Okara conducted a raid at the residence of DO Roads Okara where he was found taking Rs.3 Lac as bribe from the contractor. Anti Corruption Layyah arrested a Patwari Muhammad Shakeel of Patwar Circle 163 TDA red handed while talking Rs.5000/- as gratification from a local resident. Anti Corruption Rajanpur, in a trap raid at Lands Record Centre Rajanpur, arrested Service Centre Officer Imran and an official of Land Record Centre Hafeez when they were found taking Rs.15000/- as bribe from a local person. A case was registered against both accused and they were sent to jail on judicial remand. Anti Corruption DG Khan arrested Patwari Abdul Ghafoor and his Munshi while taking Rs.3000 as gratification, both were also sent to jail on judicial remand after registration of a case against them. Anti Corruption Chiniot arrested Zaheer Ahmad, Inspector Mines, Department of Mines and Minerals, red handed when he was taking Rs.10.000/- as bribe from a contractor. Supreme Court dismissed a post arrest bail plea of Muhammad Jafar Bhatti Chairman Allied Citizen Community Board, who was involved in corruption of Rs3.4 Million. Anti Corruption Pakpatan had registered a case against the accused after investigation in which a loss of Rs.3.4 Million to the national exchequer was proved against him
