Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the inauguration of Multan Metro Bus Project is the milestone in the progress and development of South Punjab and a modern transportation system has been introduced under the determined leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif because the provision of more and more facilities to the people has always remained the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that only those nations in the world make progress which has latest transportation facilities, best quality roads and bridges. He said that the country will make progress when the people will be able to reach their workplaces in time. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif faced harsh criticisms when he had launched the Lahore Islamabad Motorway Project in the 90s but now these critics travel on the same mega project. He said a network of development projects has been set up in Pakistan under the leader ship of PM Nawaz Sharif and the current period is the golden era in the history of Pakistan. Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the development projects launched across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the period2008-2013 prove that Nawaz Sharif is the son of soil and the true leader of the country who has established those mega development projects. He said that those people whose corruption has been established in apex courts of the country are now trying to hide their corruption in the Panama case in the Supreme Court and these are the people who have plundered the country mercilessly. He said only God knows what will the Supreme Court decide about the Panama Case but those whose corruption has been established in the courts will also have to face the court of justice. He said that if the noose is tightened around only a handful of people, it will be beneficial for the people of Pakistan.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Multan Metro Bus Project. Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said an amount of Rs. 28 billion has been spent on the 18 KM long Metro Bus Project, out of this amount Rs. 4.5 Billion have been spent on the land acquisition and the government has made best payments to the land owners and government is determined to providing maximum to its people while in the past periods the people were robbed of their assets and they were made pennilessand this is the difference between the govt. of Nawaz Sharif and Past governments. He said the first phase of the Multan Metro Bus Project has been completed while the second phase will be started shortly and every possible effort will be made to complete it in the current year. The Chief Minister badly criticized those who obstructed development and progress in the country and said for the three and a half years the country has to face the worst sit-ins. He said those who held sit-ins were not sincere with the people of Pakistan and they wanted to collapse the country and they have wasted over a one and a half year of the country. He said that organizers ofsit-ins had no sympathies with the poor and at the same time the poor had no links with them and these people only wanted to get political benefits. He said that lockdowns and sit-ins have been buried ones and for all by the grace of Allah Almighty and the favour of the people.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said if the corruption of even a single penny is proved in the development projects carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, then I will take responsibility for it and I make the whole gathering of this ceremony witness to my claim.
He said he will be responsible if corruption of single penny proved. He said the volleys of corruption allegations are a routine matter and the factories churning out the corruption allegations areworking day and night. He said all the development projects in the country are the true examples of transparency and the best quality whether they are power projects or metro bus projects. He said the metro bus project is far better than the metro projects of Rawalpindi-Islamabad and Lahore in terms of quality. He said that Lahore and Rawalpindi-Islamabad projects have good standards but we learnt from them and making efforts for improvement due to which the metro bus project has better standards. He said metro bus and orange line metro train projects in Lahore were harshly criticized but the Punjab Govt. launched the metro buses in Multan while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given hundred percent funds for the green line project in Karachi. He said Punjab manages all the projects from its resources and provide facilities to the people, but we are criticized although all the resources are provided by the Punjab Government.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said China in a meeting held in Beijing regarding the CPEC decided to include circular train and metro projects for Quetta, Karachi and Peshawar and we are happy over this sagacious decision because Pakistan will make progress when all of its federating units will move forward jointly. I request all the notables to get united under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he added.
Criticizing the previous rulers for their corruption, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that 60 million dollars of these rulers are stacked in the Swiss banks and these dollars are requesting the people of Pakistan to bring them back to the country. He said that the apex courts have decided decision the NLC and Nandipur cases but those who embezzled billion of rupees are not being questioned. He said those who got loans worth billions of rupees written off are demanding accountability. He said Prime Minister is my elder brother and we have a relationship of respect and because we have learnt from forefathers to respect elders. He said by God if corruption of single penny is proved against Nawaz Sharif when was doing business and during his periods as Chief Minister twice and Prime Minister thrice, I will be responsible for it. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif work on 3600 MW powers projects in Punjab is continuing and these projects are transparent.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said we will make progress in Pakistan as per the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said those who plundered the resources of the country mercilessly should be brought to the justice. He said if a handful of people are brought to the justice, the wheat will be separated from the chaff. He greeted public representatives, political leaders, the Chief Secretary and the Multan Commissioner were also present on the occasion.
