Punjab Government’s Educational Reform To Achieve 100 Percent Enrolment By 2018

Punjab Government’s educational reform helps out to achieve 100 percent enrolment by 2018. Educational reforms of the Punjab province are a positive example for the entire Asia. The Schools Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said this while addressing Education World Forum (EWF) held in London. EWF was organized by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Department for Education (DFE), the Department for International Trade (DIT), the Department for International Development (DFID) and the British Council. The aim of the EWF was to review the experiences of the education system in the world. The School Education Minister said that the budget for school education Punjab has been increased 379 percent from 2008 till now. He said that the provision of education is our top priority. Education can eliminate unemployment, extremism and intolerance in the society. Early childhood education classrooms as well as qualified teachers will be provided in 10 thousand primary schools by March 2018. In now, ECE classrooms have been developed in 1225 primary schools in different districts of the province. This would help to achieve 100 percent enrolment. He said that pre nursery classes would be started soon to ensure 100 percent enrolment and to decrease dropout. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that the effective field monitoring of over 52 thousand schools of the province has been developed. It is good that importance is being given to the children of minorities. More than one lakh 75 thousand less-privileged but talented students from all over the country are being equipped with education through Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF), the biggest initiative in the history of Pakistan and South Asia. It’s our commitment that no child will be deprived of education in the province because of poverty. Education is the light that enlightens the whole society. Punjab government’s educational reforms have been admired by the whole world. Academics from different countries also addressed the ceremony.
