Foolproof security arrangements will be ensured at the eve of second international business seminar and exhibition in order to attract maximum number of foreign investors. It was stated by the provincial minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment (ICI) Sheikh Alauddin while presiding over 3rd review meeting held here on Wednesday. Higher officers of the concerned departments and representatives from industrial and trade organizations also attended the meeting. Secretary ICI Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha gave a detailed presentation analyzing the on- going preparations for the super business event. “Besides a seminar on the available business opportunities in Punjab, a striking exhibition of local industrial products, food items and services will be held during 12 through 14th April 2017 at the International Expo Center Lahore. The Lahore festival, Kite flying festival, cultural shows, horse & cattle show, floriculture show, handicrafts exhibitions and a number of colorful recreational and cultural activities will be added to the event.” He added. The minister said “It will introduce huge opportunities to the investors, industrialists, manufacturers and traders to discover new horizons of business collaborations with Punjab. The manufacturing, handicrafts, leather products, cutlery, surgical instruments, agriculture, Livestock, Halal Meat, Mines and Minerals, textiles and garments, poultry, energy, auto motive, tourism, food processing, education, health, Information Technology and services will be top sectors to be exhibited skillfully. Almost 600 delegates from 23 countries including USA, Turkey, Iran and China will participate in the seminar and expo.” Sh. Alauddin, appreciating the decision of holding business seminar, directed Police department to ensure all security arrangements as foreigners were to visit it in a large number. “It is the mega event of great importance for Punjab’s economy so no stone must be left unturned to make it a success so that we may harvest the positive benefits from the money to be spent on it.” He added. The minister also took briefing from each officer and instructed to finalize the arrangements positively by 15th March.
