Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce & Investment (ICI) Sheikh Allauddin approved master plan of Wazirabad Small Industrial Estate with a little amendment for securing 16 kanals land underneath the high voltage power line in a meeting held here on Monday. The meeting was arranged to discuss and approve certain matters of small industrial estate (SIE) IV Gujranwala and Wazirabad. The meeting was also attended among others by the President Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce Saeed Taj, Board Member of PSIC Mian Muhammad Ali, President Cutlery Association Muhammad Khalid Mughal and higher officers of the department. The Minister directed the officers of his department o include a clause in sale dead of the industrial land that will bind the allottee to construct and run the industry in stipulated period. He regretted by describing the fact that some industrialists got precious land on low cost for industry but afterwards sold it in form of residential plots and grabbed hefty amounts. He sought the details of sale of 59 commercial plots in Gujranwala SIE-IV. He said Punjab government is committed to facilitate the industrialists particularly manufacturing sector in order to strengthen Pak economy and create more employment. We should try to stop closure of industries and enable them to compete the neighboring countries.
The Minister approved the replacement of a 9” wide sewerage pipe with 12” one in Wazirabad SIE. He constituted a 5-member committee to review the proposals for lifting filling earth for construction of roads from a distance of 9 km from the estate as earth was not available closer to that distance. He advised the committee to submit a report by 17thMarch in this regard.
