Punjab Minister for Women Development Department Hameeda Waheed Ud Din chaired a high level meeting regarding implementation on Women Package 2017in the Secretary Office .
Provincial Secretary Bushra Aman, Addl Secretary Nadir Khaliq and representatives of the concerned departments also attended. Bushra Aman briefed the meeting regarding initiatives of Women Package which include formulation of Provincial Gender Policy, Existing Mobile Units to provided with all basic facilities for screening breast cancer in rural areas, Legal reforms in Christian and Family inheritance Laws, SME Business trainings for 16,600 women entrepreneurs, IT training by WDD through PITB ,Skill Development of 40,000 female students with stipends of Rs.1000/- per month, Interest free micro finance to 300,000 females to start own business through CM's Self Employment Scheme in 2017-18, Provision of Bus stops with designated waiting spaces for women in urban and rural areas and establishment of Women Business Incubation Centres in Chambers of Commerce and Industries in 8 cities and "One Stop" platform for women led business.
The meeting was informed that I T training has been started in women colleges identified by WDD and training by PITB has been completed in 4 out of 10 colleges. .The Minister directed the meeting to submit a report in this regard in the next meeting .The meeting was also briefed that formulation of Gender Policy has been started and department has hired a consultancy .The Minister directed to speed up the work so that maximum number of women may be benefitted by the measures taken by the Govt for their welfare.
