Punjab Food Authority Sealed Factory Packing Textile Dyes as Food Colors

Timely action of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) saved the people from thousands of KGs of fatal food color. As per details, DG PFA, Noor ul Amin Mengal raided the fake colors manufacturing factory in Bhagatpura functioning to pack the textile colors as food colors. The factory was sealed on the spot and all equipment with machinery was taken into custody by discarding 12 thousand kgs of injurious fake food color with the help of solid waste. On this occasion, Mr. Mengal revealed that use of textile color is major cause of cancer and such factories are indulged in business of death. Eradication of the diseases taking birth from rotten food is only possible by harvesting the roots of adulteration mafia, he added. PFA is leaving no stone unturned to deal with such elements and that time is not far when the burden of disease being caused by fatal food will be removed from the life of a layman, he further added. In other activities, fine of 40 thousand rupees was imposed on Afzal Juice Corner and Lasani Juice Corner in Shadman market, ZEE Grill in Johar town, Juice Campaign in Wapda town, Ravi Milk Shop and Food Point and Mehr Milk Shop and Non Shop in Yadgar for for using dirty juicer machine, use of blue chemical drums and rotten fruits, no retrieval of food license and medicals of workers, keeping edibles in rusted freezers, no insect preventive measures, open drains and dustbins in kitchen area.
