Working under vision of Healthy Punjab to ensuring healthy and standard food for masses, PFA is engaged in checking not only the private food places but government food arrangement are also being monitored on regular basis. For this purpose, Sunday bazaars in different cities of Punjab were check by PFA teams under the supervision of DG PFA. DG PFA visited seven Sunday bazaars in Lahore including Model town, Wahdat colony and Township bazaars whereas PFA teams checked the Sunday bazaars in Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Qasor, Nankana and Sheikupura. 1200 kg’s of rotten fruits, vegetables and other edibles were discarded collectively during examination. On the other hand, Mr. Noor ul Amin Mengal issued strict warning to stalls owners and ordered in advance to seal the stalls if betterment not witnessed up till next visit. On this occasion, DG PFA recommended bazaars settled on banks of sewerage canals to shift to other places in consultation and cooperation of administration. He further added that strict action should be taken against the rotten edibles sellers and report of Sunday bazaars be forwarded to concerned administration. In other activities, a factory located in Shahdra manufacturing Jams with rotten contents was sealed. During activity, 15 thousand kg manufactured Jam and 26 thousand kg raw material was discarded.
