Service Hospital New 330 Beds Block Goes Operational

Newly constructed Outdoor and Indoor patient block having 330 beds in Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) has been made functional. The newly constructed state-of-the-art outdoor block consisting on nine floors and 180 beds have been allocated for pediatric unit. The soft launching has been made to facilitate people from the new initiative immediately, however, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will formally inaugurate the new OPD block. It was stated by the Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department Najam Ahmed Shah while talking to the media persons after visiting of the newly operationalized OPD block in Services Hospital, here Saturday morning. Principal SIMS Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz, Medical Superintendent Dr. Muhammad Amin, senior clinicians, administrative doctors and officers from Communication & Works Department were also accompanied the Secretary. Najam Ahmed Shah took round of the whole building and reviewed the health facilities as well as the administrative matters. He directed to take steps for further improving the digital token system system to facilitate the outdoor patients. He directed that more staff should be deputed on the special counter established for senior citizens. Najam Ahmed Shah visited paeds nursery, pediatric wards, pharmacy, pathological lab etc. He also enquired after the health of admitted children and asked about the health facilities being provided. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Mahmood Ayaz described the paeds nursery as one of the best state-of-the-art nursery of the country where latest gadgets including incubators have been provided. Earlier, Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah presided over a meeting in the hospital to review the development works completed in the new OPD block.
