Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that no obstacle will be tolerated in amicable functioning of the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital Gujrat and added that all the necessary resources will be provided for the development projects of the said hospital. He further said that he will personally monitor the performance of the hospital.
He said this during his inspection of Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital, today. Secretary Health Najam Ahmed Shah and other officials accompanied him. The Minister held a detailed meeting to review the performance and pace of development work of the hospital. The Minister directed to immediately suspend the medical superintendent Dr. Shahid Maroof over his poor performance and administrative grounds and the Secretary Health Najam Shah issued directions to suspend the said MS. The Minister also directed the Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat to change the principal of Gujrat Medical College to further improve the educational activities and training matters of doctors between Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital and Gujrat Medical College. Upon this, the Vice Chancellor issued orders to change Dr. Zafar Gill, the principal of Gujrat Medical College and handing over the charge of the principal to Dr. Meraj Alsaraj.
Secretary Health Najam Shah said that mutual coordination between administration and faculty of Gujrat Medical College and Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital will be further improved. He also directed the hospital administration to provide maximum medical facilities to the patients along with amicable settlement of different administrative matters. He said that required funds will be provided for the welfare of the patients and for carrying out the official matters of the hospital adding that permission will not be allowed to disturb the office discipline.
