Punjab Government is Promoting Technical Education

Provincial Minister for Industry and Trade Sheikh Alla-u-din has said that Punjab Government is promoting technical education with the help of various institutions, including TEVTA. He said that providing technical education to every young person is the primary duty of Punjab government and various technical colleges especially TEVTA are enhancing vision of Punjab government. However, it is need of time to must promote technical education in universities also.  He expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding up-gradation of Government College of technology Rasul district Mandi Bhawaldin as technology university. On this occasion, Provincial Minister Higher Education Syed Ali Raza, Provincial Minister for Women Development Hamida Wahid-u-din, Chairman HEC, Secretary Industries Dr. Mujtaba Paracha, Representatives Finance, TVTA, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, UET Departments an d other relevant persons were present. During the meeting, Secretary Industries briefed Ministers that a summary to up-gradation of Government College of technology Rasul district Mandi Bhawaldin as Technology University received here in Board Meeting. After approval, it will be forwarded to the Cabinet Committee for final approval. Minister for Higher Education Syed Ali Raza said that the HEC would not like to compromise on the quantity rather than quantity.  He said that we have to promote technical education in original terms through our universities.  Minister Women Development said that today we should took advantage of this plate form to make a comprehensive strategy for development of Pakistan. Minister of Industries said that it is our duty to maintain check and balance system on Technical colleges. At the end of meeting, all members agreed to move forward summary for final approval in Cabinet committee.
