Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department Khawaja Salman Rafique, visited INMOL Hospital, Lahore today and reviewed the work progress regarding installation & commissioning of Linear Accelerator along with construction of Bunker for Linear Accelerator. Dr. Abu Bakar Shahid, Executive Director INMOL, Usman Shamim, General Manager, Engineering Consultant Services Punjab (ECSP) Lahore, Tayyab Farid, Procurement Specialist, SHC & ME Department and Hassan Raza, representative of M/s Varitron were also present at the site.
The Minister directed to map all ensuing activities for earliest service delivery to the needy patients. It was resolved by all that civil work will be completed by third week of December, 2017. Khawaja Salman Rafique told that Machine will be made fully operational by the first week of January, 2018. The Minister said that the contractor M/s Varitron had quoted Rs. 380 million for this suite but after detailed scrutiny of financial proposal, the contractor agreed to deliver the Machine at the cost of Rs. 220 million In addition to that, government of Punjab has also paid Rs. 28 million for construction of bunker & provision of one 500 KVA Generator. Total cost for linear accelerator got reduced from Rs. 380 million to Rs. 248 million.
