Dean Institute of Child Health and Children hospital Lahore Prof. Masood Sadiq has said that a six years girl Kainat Batool was readmitted yesterday with an upper respiratory tract. He told that Kainat was first admitted last year (2017) in November in a very critical condition. She remained on ventilators support for 5 days and then in ICU for almost a month and was discharged on 2nd January. He further informed that on her evaluation by medical team at Children there was no evidence of sexual or physical abuse. She had suffered anoxic brain damage confirmed on MRI.
She has made a partial recovery since but is still on nasogastric feeding and can’t speak. She is being provided 100% free treatment on the personal advice of the Chief Minister Punjab. Prof. Masood Sadiq said that Kainat needs rehabilitation therapy with Physio therapy, speech therapy, nursing care and a team of specialists in paeds surgery neurology neurosurgery and paediatrician is looking after the baby, he concluded.
