Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan presided over an important meeting at Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, here today in which holding of celebrations with regard to Pakistan Day falling on March 23, 2018 was given final shape. Addressing the meeting, Rana Mashhood said that Pakistan Day celebrations will be celebrated throughout the province in a befitting manner by the Punjab government. The purpose of holding these celebrations is to give necessary awareness to the students’ community about the great sacrifices and untiring struggle of the Muslims of subcontinent for the establishment of a separate homeland. It will instil a sense of patriotism in the budding minds and will remind them that the State of Pakistan was achieved through the rivers of blood and toil of the forefathers who achieved this country for us to further develop it for the coming generations, he added. The meeting was told that a series of events has been planned for Pakistan Day and 14 floats will be brought out in different districts that will visit different institutions for 20 days. The activities of these floats will be broadcast through internet in the whole of the world and Pakistanis living across the globe will be able to electronically participate in them as well. The meeting was attended by representatives of Information & Culture, Schools Education, Walled City Authority Lahore, Transport, Energy, City District Government and other departments who apprised about the plan of activities by their respective departments.
