PFA, Livestock finalizes action plan for pasteurization law

The Punjab Food Authority and Livestock Department finalized the action plan for implementation of pasteurization law to ensure the provision of pure milk for people according to the vision of PM Imran Khan.

For this purpose, Director General PFA Captain (R) Muhammad Usman met with Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Ahsan Waheed here on Wednesday. They have discussed the different aspects of the projects during the meeting. It was decided that the final decision would be taken about from where to start the Pasteurization Pilot Project after coming results of the survey. In this survey, facts and figures of consumption of milk in different areas and people’s interest in pasteurization would be assessed. DG PFA said that pasteurization is a very simple action in which milk is processed to make it bacteria-free and then packaging. He further said that packing of pasteurized milk would have proper production unit address which would help to stop the ways of adulteration.

On that occasion, Secretary Livestock said that Punjab Food Authority and Livestock department has completed the planning and implementation of this policy. All aspects of the pilot project have been eyed carefully and the survey would be completed in the next fifteen days. Secretary Livestock also added that if people want to have pure milk then they must help and support our survey teams in your own areas.
