Students Being Educated About Healthy Lifestyle: Murad Raas

Provincial Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas has said that necessary awareness should be created among the students about living a healthy life besides imparting quality education to them in the public schools.  It is worth mentioning that implementation of educational reforms is an important agenda of the PTI government and efforts are being made to transform public sector schools by introducing different changes in their syllabus and educational standards.

These views were expressed by the minister during a meeting with the delegation of UNICEF at his office today. The minister informed that a comprehensive reforms program is being introduced in public sector schools. Purpose of this program is to educate the students about the importance of sports and healthy living besides getting education. He said that purpose of clean and green program is to establish a healthy society. He said that literacy rate will be enhanced to 100 percent besides curbing the menace of child labour in order to materialize the dream of prosperous and developed Pakistan. By adopting international standards, provincial schools education department will arrange best educational atmosphere so that the Pakistani students could be harmonized with the modern-day demands of the 21st century.

Later, the minister addressed the prize-distribution ceremony of a private institution at Gulberg today. He said that children are our best future and PTI is implementing the agenda of promotion of education. He said that provision of missing facilities in schools will be given a practical shape. Special attention was being paid to the capacity building of the teachers, he added. Later, he gave medals to the position-holders and distributed commendatory certificates and shields among the bright students.Moreover, Murad Raas also inaugurated a water-filtration plant in the area of Gulberg today. He said that provision of clean drinking water to all the people will be ensured. He disclosed that installation of water treatment plants in the government schools of Punjab is in progress for providing clean water to the students and their teachers.
