Punjab Minister for Population Welfare Col. Rtd Hashim Dogar has said that Punjab government has taken religious scholars (Ulemas) on board over the matter of increasing population. They all agree on the concept of healthy mother and healthy child. He was addressing a Regional Dissemination seminar on Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey- PDHS (2017-18) here, today. The minister said that education seeks great importance for getting the solution of problem of population increase. He said that when people will be educated then they will be in a capacity to understand the importance of family planning. The minister uttered that the findings of Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey would help in understanding the problem and trends of using old and modern contraceptives among married couples. Hashim Dogar stressed that the problem of increasing population cannot be overcome until the young generation of Pakistan will not be well educated and fully aware of this issue and its solution.
