Punjab Minister for Revenue Col (Retd) Malik Muhammad Anwar has said that in view of growing needs of farming and business community, more than new 115 land record centres are being set up across the province in order to ensure prompt service delivery of the department. The Provincial Revenue Minister stated this while talking to a number of delegations coming from different areas of the province at his office today. The Minister disclosed that under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister, surprise raids across the province were being conducted to check and monitor the performance of the revenue department and no laxity would be tolerated in this regard.
Malik Anwar directed the senior revenue officers to pay special attention on improving services being rendered at land record centres, land record management system and achieving the recovery targets of the government dues. The Minister asked the revenue officers to ensure placement of complaint boxes at all land record centres and take strict action against responsible ones in light of complaints received from complainants. He also directed to ensure provision of clean drinking water and set up shades for the convenience of people to protect them from growing temperature. Col (Retd) Malik Anwar said that record of agricultural and residential lands is being computerised with a view to protect from fraud in land transfer/mutation. He further said that lands worth billions of rupees were retrieved from land grabbers and would be planted heavily under clean and green program.
