‘Punjab Games’ After 8 Years a Remarkable Step: Law Minister Punjab

Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Local Government & Community Development Muhammad Basharat Raja has said that Punjab Government had taken a remarkable step to conduct games at provincial level after a long break of 8 years. He was addressing a ceremony as chief guest after inaugurating Kabaddi Match held by Punjab Sports Board (PSB) at Qaddafi Stadium last day. Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Taimur Ahmad Khan and officers of PSB were also present on the occasion. Law minister said that Punjab Games provided vast opportunities to the young players from all districts of the province to express their talent by participating diverse types of games. He said, “The 72nd Punjab Games have been conducted under the Prime Minister’s vision for promoting healthy activities for the youth of Pakistan. The Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar took personal interest to start these games. I am sure these games will add value to the potential of our youth for competing at the international level.” Answering the queries of the media, Basharat Raja said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was an independent organization to perform its official duties. He dismissed certain allegations by saying that government was not influencing the NAB at any level as Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf believed in sovereignty of public organizations to build up a new trustable environment for governance.
