Two-day workshop on Prefeasibility studies of Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP) Phase II organized by Program Management Unit, Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program(PICIIP), Local Government and Community Development Department (LG&CDD), attended by Administrative and Municipality Staff of Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Muzaffargarh and Sargodha. Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) SCE consultants including Urban Development Specialist Gordon Smith and Project Director Mr. Romain Vivant threw light on the findings of the pre-feasibility study.
Aim of the workshop is to present the pre- feasibility studies of proposed infrastructure projects as per requirement of the cities in water supply, green spaces; transportation, sewerage, waste water and solid waste management said Mr. Kaiser Saleem Program Director Punjab Intermediate Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP). Government of the Punjab Introducing Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP) costs 350 million $ with financial assistance of Asian Development bank in four intermediate cities of Punjab he added. The PICIIP aims to create sustainable Infrastructure and services to support urban centers especially in south Punjab which is complementing the ongoing efforts of the Government of the Punjab.
