In order to resolve the drinking water management problems being faced by the masses, Local Government and Community Development Department signed the Aide-Memoire with Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) in which 300,000 US $ will be spent on the study to introduce Smart Water Management under Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP). In this regard an Inception workshop held on KSP-ADB Joint Consulting to support Smart Water Management. In the first phase this program to be introduced for Sargodha by PICIIP and KSP-ADB. Mr.Kyong Seo, Park Director Exim Bank,Mr. Deuk-Koo KOH the Executive Vice President Dongbu Engineering & Mr. Je Young AHN Senior Manager K-Water delivered presentations on the Project overview and work scope on smart water management and detail plan. KSP-ADB joint Consulting will analyze the current status of Water Management System in Sargodha and conduct in-depth, practical and theoretical policy consultation to share Korea’s experience and knowledge on developing smart water management system. Under this project proactive monitoring will be done to secure the quality and quantity of drinking water by installation of smart devices.
PICIIP will support different civic up-gradation programs in intermediate cities of Punjab with financial assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB). As per details Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP) is aimed at improving the efficiency of Municipal Corporation by improving the services of water supply, sanitation, sewerage treatment, solid waste management, transport infrastructure, which will be contributed in enhancing the economic activities and strengthen business process with improved community health and better quality of life of the residents of Sargodha, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan Cities. The Deputy Secretary Development YasirFarhad, Deputy Program Director Mr. Ali Raza Rao and Officers from Municipal Corporation Sargodha and Program Management Unit Staff participated in the workshop.
